Investing in Children, Investing in the Future!

Year 3 visited Scarlett to look for the Isle of Man’s only extinct volcano and to hunt for fossils. Dawn Dickens, the Manx Wildlife Education Officer talked to us about what to look for and then we were off, down to the bedrock, using our eyes and observation skills to see what we could find… it was great fun!
Look at the layers of rock in the photographs – they are a bit like pieces of paper that are layered on top of each other. They bend and curve under massive pressure from underground.
In the last photograph, you can see a little sea anemone attached to the rock – we made sure we returned it to the water once we had had a quick look at it.
