Investing in Children, Investing in the Future!
St Johns School had the largest ever turn out for their annual Public Speaking Competition, which was judged by Miss Grib, (English Teacher from QEII) and Joff Whitten (School Governor and CEO of The IOM Children's Centre). In third place was Daisy with her 'Plastic Fantastic' speech, second place was Max who spoke about quidditch and cheese rolling and in first position was Charlie, who gave an excellent talk on his 'perfect day'. The three winners will represent our school in the IOM Rotary Club Public Speaking Competition in a couple of weeks time.
Congratulation to all those who had the courage to stand up in front of an audience and deliver speeches they had written themselves. Topics included: animals of war, netball, Lego, life on the farm, unusual pets, flying hamsters, and Charlie the 'guard dog'.
