Investing in Children, Investing in the Future!
A big thank you to Falk and Phil from the Isle of Man Woodland Trust for visiting our school to plant native trees with the Peregrine Class. A total of 13 threes were planted: four rowan, two alder, two oak, two field maple, one silver birch and one elm. The children cleared the grass, dug a hole and then sprinkled a little bone meal before planting. Each tree was protected by a biodegradable tree shelter (which allows light through and protects the tree from animals such as rabbits) supported by a wooden stake. We chose to plant the trees outside the fence on the school field to provide further protection from accidental damage.
