Reception Robins Read about Rubbish

Reception Robins have been busy reading their new Monster Phonics ‘rubbish’ non-fiction books. This week’s book was ‘What a Mess!’ about a park litter pick.

We learnt lots from Bill Dale and Carol Pickering from Beach Buddies in assembly about how the IOM is a leading world example of being eco-warriors by doing litter picks, recycling and having an incinerator which makes energy from waste. No more land fill!

The book we read ends with a poster telling people to put their rubbish in the bin. Can we do better?

Can you spot our paper mache earth showing the polar regions ? It was made from recycled newspaper into the sun and then changed into the earth. Out of this world eh?

Robins also recycled glass jars to make Northern Lights tea light lamps.
