Investing in Children, Investing in the Future!
Each week, waste food (fruit, vegetables, bread, egg shells), from the staff room and school meals, is taken into the Peter Rabbit Patch. Volunteers break up the food, add cardboard and sawdust, then mix together before adding to the Hot Bin. Liquid is drained from the base of the bin, which we keep and dilute to use as plant food. When ready, the compost is used to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables.
