Primary Engineer Ramp Challenge 2025

The Primary Engineer programme (primaryengineer.com) is sponsored by the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerse, who provide the construction tools and materials.

The Shearwater Class built tipper trucks in their Design Technology lessons with Mrs Douglas, Mr Chalk and Mr Kelly from Strix.

The children took part in the annual Ramp Challenge, where the trucks travel down a ramp to see which one travels the furthest down the sports hall.

David Kelly from Strix was partnered with St Johns School through the Primary Engineer programme and was our special guest at the Ramp Challenge event.

This year's winners were Remi for best design and Moshe, whose tipper truck travelled the furthest.

Eight of the children will attend a showcase event with their trucks at UCM in July organised by Primary Engineers.
