Vocanic Eruptions at St Johns School

Our budding scientists have been diving into the explosive world of volcanoes! With Mrs Lowe, the children got stuck in creating their own spectacular volcanoes using plastic bottles and paper mâché—each one more impressive than the last.
But the real excitement came a few days later…
Under the watchful eye of Mrs Douglas, the school grounds became the scene of a series of very dramatic eruptions! As washing up liquid, red food colouring, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda were mixed inside the volcanoes, they burst into life with fizzing, bubbling explosions—much to the children’s delight.
It’s safe to say things got a little messy… and a lot of fun!
